SAN FERNANDO VALLEY ASIS SALUTES LAW ENFORCEMENT
&
PRIVATE SECURITY OFFICERS AT LEAPS-2005
On the 25th Anniversary of our Chapter’s inception, the 2005
Law Enforcement and Private Security Appreciation Day could not
have been more successful.
Kudos to the entire LEAPS Committee for rolling up their sleeves
and making this year’s event one of the most accomplished
and successful LEAPS in the history of this Chapter.
With our patriotism running at an all time high, our event began
with our colors salute performed by our local color guard followed
by the invocation by Father Frank Hicks, LAPD Chaplain.
When Craig Chamberlain introduced Keynote speaker Erroll Southers,
Deputy Director, California Office of Homeland Security, the crowd
became riveted when Erroll began to discuss how the Al-Qaeda network
has become a threatening force within the confines of our state,
which cherishes the 6th largest economy in the world.
Committee Chairman Bob Lee began our honor roll call by calling
up the recognized members of our local community law enforcement
and private security companies.
These men and women were singled out for their services of above
and beyond their call of duty.
Our last honoree of the afternoon was the most touching recipient
of the day, Jack Egger!
Jack is a Charter Member of our Chapter. From its 1980 inception,
Jack led a group of his contemporaries into a new security venture
called The American Society for Industrial Security.
Jack was honored for his many, many years of dedicated leadership
along with his uncanny sense of humor. For the majority of our first-quarter
century Law Enforcement Appreciation Days, you could count on Jack
Egger to ensure we had a sound and entertaining program.
A congregation of 200 guests included many of the local law enforcement
agencies including LAPD, CHP, LASD, Glendale, San Fernando, and
Simi Valley Police Departments.
With everything said, this event could not have been successful
without the support of our 19 fantastic sponsors.
Each sponsor paid a table fee along with two additional seats for
our Law Enforcement Officers.
I’m so proud of the participating companies, many of whom
compete on a daily basis with each other however, their true professionalism
surfaced when they stood shoulder to shoulder with each other in
a common bond of supporting our security industry and Law Enforcement
personnel.
Props to every security company that sponsored a table, demonstrating
to their peers how important it is to support their industry and
not be coy about interacting with their competitor.
Lastly, a tremendous round of applause and recognition to the following
men and women that contributed their time to make this event so
special.
Bob Lee, Mike Pirouzian, Dylan Anderson, Ann Marie Piersol, Doug
Bryant,
Gary Bradley, Terry Petrillo, Ron Buehler, Walt Kainz, Pam Chamberlain,
and Pat Salter
